Rob's work is built around buildings that matter: heritage structures worth strengthening, community and education facilities shaped by the people who'll use them, and engineered timber construction where technical judgement and commercial reality had to work together.

Rob leads structural design across the firm's broad range of projects, with a particular focus on the heritage, engineered timber, and community project portfolio.

Recent work includes the Youth Hub Christchurch, winner of the 2025 SESOC Structural Sustainability Award, and the Punangairi Visitor Centre at Punakaiki, winner of the 2025 NZIA John Scott Award for Public Architecture - two projects where structural decisions shaped the character and viability of the building, not just its performance.

Rob is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng Structural), holds a Master of Science in Advanced Structural Engineering from Imperial College London and a postgraduate certificate in earthquake engineering from the University of Canterbury. He is a member of the SESOC Sustainable Task Force and has practised across Ireland, the UK, and New Zealand for over twenty years.
